On The Top Of New York

BBC’s Human Planet documentary has been among the most successful shows that have been released recently on the media channels. It tracks down the adjustment of people towards different environment, explores their cooperation with the natural world and indicates different stages of development in a more natural world. Its latest episode, named “The Cities”explored a social phenomena in the heart of one of the biggest polluters among all countries – the U.S.
The show focused on several factors, however, it revealed a piece of information that is not well known among the public. On the roofs of Manhattan’s buildings, one can encounter a spectacular scene – there people producing bee honey in the special bee hives are developing one of the greenest approaches in delivering foods to the public. The New York bee keepers distribute almost 7 tons of honey annually and with the increase in the awareness of people, it is expected that this number would have even higher rates in the near future.
The occupation attracts thousands every year from all social groups – from lawyers to environment lovers. It is a greener way of supplying the food chain, a good method for generating income and a contribution to the New Yorker’s green areas. The impact of such activity is zero percent pollution and a hundred percent of productivity. Thousands of tons of honey are distributed among the New York stores and only with a simple bee keeping activities the New Yorkers can change this and consume self-produced honey with no carbon footprint. The city itself is a self storage of thousands of green production opportunities.

Sell yourself

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

Most organic businesses are pretty small, just a few products in the range and just a few staff to go about selling them! Budgets for things like marketing and advertising are small to non-existent, until the brand starts to take off, so manufacturers rely on word of mouth and getting their hands dirty. Well, as farmers, they should be used to that!
There are a few things you can do yourself to give your products the biggest push when it comes to the competitive and crowded organic market. There are lots of different types of email marketing software out there but some can be downloaded for free. Set up a website and persuade people to sign up for further information by offering them a free sample – you then have a list of contacts that you can email when you launch new products or are going to be selling at events through the year. Keep them interested by offering them special offers too; you don’t even have to make them that special! As long as people think they’re getting a good deal, they’ll be happy…
You should use the marketing and advertising budgets of bigger events to support you as much as possible Farmers markets and country fairs will have some money set aside for promotion in the local media. Sign up for these events nice and early, make sure you appear at them regularly and support the organisers as much as possible, and you might be able to persuade them to feature your product prominently on their leaflets and website. It’s not exactly free advertising, as you’ll have to invest your time in developing the relationship, but having your product established with a long-running farmers market can only be a good thing for the future of your company.

Foster’s TV adverts should be placed in a way that will be able to capture a wide range of customers e.g. bill boards placed along the high way. While creating the Foster’s beer adverts, the advertisers should ensure that the information is clear on the consumption of the Foster’s lager and under age people aren’t encourage to drink the beer.

Foster’s beer adverts should also be educative. This can be done by passing a message during advertising. A message like, ’don’t drink and drive'or ’please drink responsibility'can be educative. Messages like ’not suitable for people under the age of 18 years'is also a good way of ensuring parents don’t allow under age kids to take the Foster’s lager. Foster’s beer advert is the best way of ensuring more customers are informed about Foster’s lager

How Organic farming Can Ease Climate Change

How Organic farming Can Ease Climate Change

Climate change has become a real issue, much like that of energy savings and using Enigin design service to solve the problem, as the danger of the whole world going extinct becomes more real every day. While it has mostly been left to figure out the solutions to the current problems, the truth is any solution that is permanent will have to be orchestrated from the small scale level first. That is where something such as organic farming comes in. Organic farming is a method of agriculture that relies solely on natural methods to maintain and improve the soil fertility such as green manure and crop rotation. The use of manufactured farm inputs such as fertilizers and pesticide is extremely reduced.

Organic farming can help ease climate change because for starters the organic farm inputs are non pollutants of air, water and soil unlike their chemical counterparts. The use of leguminous cover crops and green manure not only enriches the soil but also helps sequester the harmful carbon dioxide from the earth’s atmosphere. Compared to the techniques employed in conventional farming, the farming methods used in organic farming encourage the plant to develop even deeper roots increasing the quantity of organic materials in the soil. This will mean that more carbon dioxide will be locked up underground and kept out of the atmosphere.

The quick growth that comes about as a result of supplying nutrients artificially results in plants that develop shallow roots and this greatly affects the quantity of organic matter inside the soil. The chemicals used for weed and pest control also kill microbes in the soil. This will greatly compromise the mineral content of food that will be grown in these soils. To take on the climatic change, reverting to organic farming will be an important move.

Benefits of Organic Milk

Benefits of Organic Milk

Benefits of Organic Milk

One thing that I know for sure about organic milk is that it is expensive. Not everyone drinks milk because they like it or crave for it, but most people drink it as surely is healthy. The question over here is not why milk is better than beer, but why organic milk is better than the regular milk. I believe the best person to answer this question would be the guy who comes first in the line of the milk production crew.

However after reading a news report I am now convinced that the organic milk is better. The major difference is that the organic milk has lower level of saturated fat while it also has more of the beneficial fatty acids than the conventional milk. The organic milk is rich with Omega 3, antioxidants, and more vitamins as well. The conventional milk however lacks in all of these as the cows are fed with fodder which was grown using fertilizers, pesticides, hormones and antibiotics. It’s like the cow would need army insurance to fight all the chemicals out.

The demand for organic milk is increasing around the world, with a significant annual growth both in US and UK. The reason being organic milk is healthier. Organic milk also is rich in vitamin E. Well, I think if the benefits are more on the organic side then buying milk costlier would surely make sense. After all we buy milk just to stay healthy. And if we know that the conventional milk that we buy is not doing a good job, and we still buy, then we are only trying to fulfil our psychological need not the actual need. The increase in demand for the organic milk is good for the cows as the dairy farms would be forced to use the natural ways of feeding, which will mean a good health for the cow and resulting in good health for us.

Check your meat

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized

How many of us, while shopping at the supermarket, give the food labels a quick and cursory glance, looking out for the word “organic” and then just stuffing it into the trolley and heading into the next aisle? I know I’m guilty of this, especially when the kids are grumpy or I have work to do at home. But why do we just take the supermarket’s word for where our milk, meat and other products come from? They’re only obliged to tell us where the meat has physically come from, not the exact details of how it was farmed. “Free range” in particular is a phrase that can mean different things to different people, and you can guarantee that the supermarkets will stretch the legal definition to breaking point!
The only way to get all the gossip on your meat is to either buy from a local butcher, who himself buys from a local farmer, or dig out your wellies and head down to the farm yourself. Lots of farms these days don’t just supply stores but will sell direct to the public, either through their own shop or at events like farmer’s markets. Getting out into the countryside has its advantages though; you can see for yourself the conditions that the chickens, pigs or cows are being kept in and decide if that is “free range” or organic enough for your exacting standards. After all, if the cows look as happy as a Caroline Shotton painting, then not only can you eat your steak with a clear conscience, but the meat will even taste better too. Animals that are stressed by their surroundings really will taste tougher once cooked; that’s one of the reasons the cheap meat from cheap supermarkets isn’t great quality. A happy farm equals happy meat!

A Polish Response

A Polish Response

A recent case in the EU Court of Justice is a good example of how countries that can afford staying outside the GMO affection should treat the spreading of the genetically modified foods. Poland, as a country of a well developed agriculture and using new and innovative approaches in the industry, rejected to work in a GMO project and thus became one of the few countries in the EU that remained outside the GMO circle. The Commission, following legislative provisions providing for the spread of reasonably acceptable GMO products within the Union, took actions against the member state saying it does not comply with the European Law since it does not work on GMO foods and products.
The Court of Justice with the European Union had the task to determine whether Poland has really broken the law by not following the EU agreements. Instead of arguing on the issue of the agreement, Poland clearly stated that its not developing GMO is a clear violation of the EU law and still, the state would not start developing GMO foods and products since it considers it ethically wrong and in contrast with the religious views of its citizens. The court, realising how important such an argument is, did not provide judgement leaving the question open and at the discretion of the member state.
This proves an essential aspect and gives a good example for the countries willing to decrease their GMO dependency – there is a way of improving the agriculture and no laws can proclaim the opposite since feeding the population with potentially harmful products is against any moral and religious conviction of any nation. And just like Enigin is bringing energy solutions to your home, agricultural developers should start working and developing ideas for the countries on how to have a more healthy production that would not cost lives and health of the people.

Reduce Your Expenses

Reduce Your Expenses

The organic foods market is expanding – you do not need to even analyse that statement because it is a common truth that people are actually looking for products that they can buy and enjoy without worrying about their health and side effects of the foods. This is why the increased demand is a condition for good agricultural development and more and more people are getting involved in the organic goods production.

What is very important in such a production cycle is the modernisation of the production process. Currently, the modern organic products farms are producing more of the foods sold on markets and larger stores. This is the reason why a business owner of that type needs to get himself/herself involved into the modernisation of the branch and start complying with the new techniques in the market.

An important step towards modernisation of the branch is the energy saving. It is a common truth that production, especially in the UK, is quite energy consuming since more of the products, especially vegetables and fruits need greenhouses in order to be protected from the external English climate. These greenhouses are energy consuming and need quite a lot of electricity and heating in order to maintain well-conditioned environment for the plants.

So, why do not you cut down the expenses from the energy you use. Companies like Enigin Scam are providing good strategies for cutting down the energy expenses of both business and private energy consumers and this is definitely something that your business would gladly welcome. The reason is that this will not only influence positively your budget but will also be a step towards a more environmentally friendly production – a modernisation step that is so urgently needed among business owners nowadays.

Maintaining Organic Production

posted by easmgr in Uncategorized
Maintaining Organic Production

Along with all these environmental problems surrounding us ( Enigin PLC may directly advise you on how you can contribute to their solution), the problem with food and bio products around the world is getting more and more serious with the rapidly growing population and the regions that are in a desperate need of food. Organic production would simply be not enough to feed the countries that need desperately resources and help. this is the reason why GMO foods are a preferred kind or nutrition resources that are sent in the food lacking regions. However, in the near future we might be able to cope with this problem and no longer rely on the dangerous GMO foods.Several plans for organic food production and agriculture have been developed by European and American economists. The main idea is that the financial support that nowadays go to the GMO producers, would have to somehow be transferred to the organic products production. If completely replaced by organic food, the GMO would be no longer necessary. However, it is an expensive production and quite time consuming which would mean that a strict and serious approach should be undertaken. The main idea is that the EU funds that go to the European farmers should be conditional after 2014 – every farmer would receive funding for his production in a reasonable amount and at reasonable time as long as he complies with the requirements by the EU – specific cycle of food production and which artificial nutrition resources might be used. Thus the organic production would be stimulated and farmers would be more willing to produce foods and goods that would be absolutely natural and healthy. The American approach is even more radical and proposes legislative steps to prevent the growth and spread of GMO products.Hopefully these steps and measures would be adopted by the decision-making bodies – this is the only way that we can stop treating our bodies with genetically modified products that, at some occasions, might be more dangerous that habits like smoking and drinking.
